A future update to this article might show where the whole Mandelbrot Set sits inside the map. However, you can get a good idea of this by clicking here. In my notation, the left hand end of the Set is at (E=-2, N=0), and the right hand end of the set at the point where it intersects the "Equator" is at (E=0.25, N=0). The set extends further to the East of this as you go North or South.

By the end of this article, we should have some understanding of why it sits where it does.
